Houston Police Dept. Fails to Investigate over 20,000 Criminal Cases

June 2, 2014

According to a report commissioned by the city, more than 20,000 burglary, theft, assault and hit-and-run cases were not investigated in 2013.  When I stumbled onto this story the explanation given was that HPD is understaffed.  This may be some of the reason this happened, but I am not buying that this is the only […]

Texas Appeals Court reverses capital murder conviction

June 1, 2014

The 14th Court of Appeals reversed Jaime Arturo Zamora’s 2011 capital murder conviction this week.  Why? Common sense – you can’t sustain a conviction based solely on the testimony of people who are already in trouble.  There was no evidence connecting him to the shooting except  testimony of his alleged accomplices. Zamora was serving life […]

Appeals Court asked to reinstate manslaughter charges for two BP employees

May 31, 2014

Two BP employees were charged with manslaughter in connection with the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion that killed 11 offshore oil rig workers.  Prosecutors have asked the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to reinstate the charges after U.S. District Judge Stanwood Duval Jr. threw out 11 counts of “seaman’s manslaughter.” Duval said the seaman’s manslaughter law […]

School security gaurd assaults, handcuffs handicapped student to wheelchair

May 30, 2014

Yet another example of a glorified hall-monitor run a muck,  an Oakland High school guard brutally attacked a student, allegedly punching, handcuffing and dumping a handicapped student out of his wheel chair.  The Officer, Marchell Mitchell, has been charged with child abuse and fired. The details of this situation are deplorable. Mitchell was trying to […]

FOX News Anchor Arrested Drunk & Belligerent

May 29, 2014

File this under sanctimonious news anchors can do stupid things just like the rest of us.  Gregg Jarrett of Fox News was arrested after getting “turnt up” at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and having some sort of scuffle with the police that they did not take to kindly to.  Jarrett, 59 years young, spent […]

UT LAW Admitted numerous unqualified, but politically connected students

May 28, 2014

Say it ain’t so- is nepotism, cronyism and favoritism alive and well in the state of Texas!?  Were students admitted that had no business being admitted to one of the top law schools in the state – our very own UT Law?  The evidence suggests so. Information has surfaced that some of the students had the worst […]
